Frequently Asked Questions
What is Hakomi?
The Hakomi method is my framework for working with clients. Hakomi is a Mindfulness-Centered Somatic Psychotherapy that has been developed in the late 1970’s and is now widely used by therapists around the world.
In Hakomi, present experiences such as emotions, physical sensations, beliefs, become access routes to core material that shapes how the client organizes their responses around major themes if life. The study of the experiences and the core beliefs is done through mindfulness, which opens the door for processing and transformation at the deepest level of the client’s sub-conscious.

What is Re-Creation of the Self (RC-S)?
RC-S is a model for mapping of the Self, and a dynamic body of techniques for helping clients learn to shift their states of consciousness. In my practice, RC-S is weaved into the overall session to resource and stable clients in a preferred state of being.

How do I know if you are the right person to see?
A nurturing therapeutic relationship is at the foundation of the healing process. As your guide, my job is to make sure that safety and trust are always present. As a client, you want to make sure that my work style and direction align with your intentions. During our introductory call and our first session, feel free to ask any question that will help you decide whether or not I am a fit for you. If we are unable to work together for any reason, I will provide appropriate referrals.
Do you accept insurance?
I do not work with any insurance provider. Please be advised that the CA Board of Psychology does not recognize my services as the practice of psychotherapy.
